Many of our customers elect, due to their support needs, to employ Personal Support Workers (PSWs) in the home or in the local community with the customer(s). These PSWs are a vital asset to our customers, and SDRI wishes to support our customers in their hiring and retention of these necessary workers.
Oregon Developmental Disability Services (ODDS) & Oregon Home Care Commission (OHCC) have put together some Consumer / Employer Information resources for individuals who wish to employ workers to provide services in their homes or in the community. The Employer Resource Connection program (formerly “STEPS”) is designed to help new customers and/or Employers of Record get to know their rights and responsibilities as employers.
