Description:

This class is the fourth in the new “Medical Detective” class series taught by Julie Camp, RN. The series focuses on learning to recognize and “sleuth out” symptoms and medical needs of adults & children with intellectual/developmental disabilities. This class will guide participants toward thinking “outside the box” and systematically examine and rule in, or rule out, medical possibilities for challenging behavior.  This should always be the first step when new challenging behaviors crop up or existing ones change in intensity, frequency or duration. Appropriate for anyone providing care and support for individuals in this population.  No need for the full series to attend this class however prior attendance of Unit 3, Pain and Pain Management is recommended.
