Description:
Class will focus on current trends in partnerships between Person Centered Planning and Diagnostics. These terms are not mutually exclusive. Often individuals receive increased stigmatization and negatively referenced labels when the gap between these two issues is not bridged. The importance of day-to-day, person-to-person interactions is examined as the most important variable in quality of life issues.
Participants will navigate through the inception of Person Centered Planning for individuals with developmental disabilities and learn why Person Centered Planning cannot happen without Person Centered Thinking. Common diagnostic issues staff comfort will be discussed and addressed through group thinking activities and case studies.
