Description:
New to the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities? Been around but curious? This is a “whirlwind tour” of the DD field, including: the dramatic history of developmental disabilities; technical definitions; descriptions and visuals of common developmental disabilities; terminology; “People First” language; and a practice “ride” on the Individual Support Plan (ISP) and other essential elements & values of the DD system. Video and slide “sightseeing” plus stories, lecture, discussion and a great set of souvenir handouts! New and well-traveled residential & vocational staff, families, foster care providers (approved for annual AFC training at 6 hours), caregivers and other professionals are especially welcome!
Your “tour guides” will point out facts, definitions, resources & visuals (movies & pics) with “ticketed travelers.”
