New to the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities? Been around but curious? Check out this “whirlwind tour” of the I/DD field, including: the dramatic history of people with intellectual or developmental disabilities; technical definitions; descriptions and visuals of common disabilities; People First language; terminology; and a practice “ride” on the Individual Support Plan (ISP) plus other essential elements & values of the system. Video and slide “sightseeing” plus stories, lecture, discussion and a souvenir set of handouts! New and “well-traveled” residential & vocational staff, families, child & adult foster care providers, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals are very welcome!
