The Behavior Roundtables will be monthly (third Tuesday), small group (registration is capped at 15), interactive, lunch hour workshops addressing various behavioral challenges commonly occurring in individuals with I/DD. Since these are intended to be interactive sessions each one will allow at least an hour for questions and discussion encouraging “comparing notes” and offering support and suggestions to each other. It is hoped participants will feel empowered to make changes in the way they may support individuals they work with as well as better understanding situations that may require additional support from a behavior consultant.

In this third Roundtable we’ll be talking about nonverbal communication, the “language” of behavior and the importance of supporting both receptive and expressive communication skills by developing visual strategies. Learn to develop your own individualized visual strategies and portable supports to help keep everyone happy on the go. We’ll look at low cost / no cost, customized solutions to keep on hand at home, school or work and easily carry with you anywhere in the community.
