Description:

Part Two of the three-part Autistic Perspective series will discuss ways people on the spectrum let others know what they are thinking and feeling. Among subjects discussed:

  • meltdowns and shutdowns
  • sensory integration issues;
  • self-injury;
  • how co-occurring developmental disabilities and mental health conditions complicate communication;
  • how to sort out what an autistic person’s behaviors might (or might not) mean.

[Note: Attendance of prior sections is NOT required.]

Directions:

I-205 to Exit 20 (Stark/Washington). East on Washington past Mall 205. Go right on 106th to 737 SE 106th. Bus lines 15 and 20 run within a few blocks. Park on street or large lot of the community rec center.
