Description:

In the Conclusion of a three-part series, Andee Joyce — a self-advocate on the autism spectrum — will discuss public accommodations needed for people on the spectrum to have full access to their communities. Among the topics covered will be basic concepts of self-advocacy and how it works on different levels; finding and creating autism-friendly spaces; meeting new people; and issues regarding disclosure of disability. Also included will be Dr. Dora Raymaker’s recommendations on healthcare accommodations, based on her research with AASPIRE (Academic Autistic Spectrum Partnership In Research and Education).
