Description:

In the conclusion of a three-part series, Andee Joyce – a self-advocate on the autism spectrum – will discuss the public accommodations needed for people on the spectrum to have full access to their communities. Among the topics covered will be basic concepts of self-advocacy and how it works on different levels; finding and creating autism-friendly spaces; meeting new people; and issues regarding disclosure of disability. Also included will be Dora Raymaker’s recommendations on healthcare accommodations, based on her research with AASPIRE.
