As the aging population of persons with intellectual disabilities living in the community continues to grow, it is important to understand the influence that age related conditions and dementia may contribute to their quality of life and behavior. The paradigm and philosophy of care also must be evaluated in our service throughout this process. This class will identify some common conditions and risk factors for consideration within the context of behavior analysis.

The address is 8360 Cason Road in Gladstone. You will take the Gladstone exit off of 205 then head west on 82nd Ave. Turn right on Oatfield Road, then right on Webster Road, then right on Cason Road. When you turn from Webster on to Cason Road, you will see several signs for Somerset. The first is Somerset Lodge, pass that one. The second is Somerset Assisted Living. There are two entrances to Somerset Assisted Living. Go past the main entrance. The second entrance doesn’t have much signage but that is the one you want. Our training room is on the lower level of the building and a small sign out front says Gladstone Enrichment Center. We recommend planning extra time in the morning so that we can start on time.

[Note: We can park on the street (Cason Road) or in any open parking spots in the back parking lot. Please avoid parking in the main entrance parking lot. It is reserved for residents and their guests.]
